Group History
The parent company was originally formed in 1885 by Robert John McKinney in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
During the 1950s-1970s the company grew significantly resulting in seven associated companies being created; all of which specialised in construction related trades.
In the mid eighties the construction companies were sold to allow the company to focus on commercial development in Europe.
Since 1885 the company has become a specialist out-of-town retail developer in Europe, Brazil and China.
See our specialist areasCurrently the Group is focused on the assisting UK Councils with their property problems via a unique JV vehicle that deals effectively with Market Failure sites, developments and regeneration projects that have been shelved due to funding difficulties.
Currently this vehicle is being used for the 17-26 acre c£150m regeneration of the former ferry port at Stranraer in Scotland in conjunction with the Dumfries and Galloway Council. This site comprises a c250 berth marina and a mixed use development located adjacent to the town centre.
